Where were you,God?

Have you ever been angry at God? I have. As I reflect on the people mentioned in the Bible I am reminded of the prophets and other's who expressed bitterness and anger towards God: Naomi, Jonah, David, Elijah and more.

Anger is a human emotion given to us by our creator. But does that give us a license to be angry with him? Yes and no. St. Paul said we can we angry but sin not.



My journey (if I can call it that) began in March of this year. It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon on the White River. One of my son's expressed a desire to go trout fishing. So, we went. Before I realized it I was struck from behind by a man's boat trailer. A cat scan later revealed a shattered tibia. That began a journey of pain and healing, in which continues today.



Anger is a powerful emotion. One that can lead us to sin or sanctification. The reason why I was angry with God was due to my life's situation. Two son"s who are mentally disabled, unable to work, and now faced with the responsibility of caring for their sixty something mother. The mom who looked after her children is now the mom who depends soley on her two son's.



The day of the accident I felt and still feel I was a "lone duck" among many people. God was in heaven knowing this was about to happen and still allowing it to be. We often question why he allows bad things to happen to good people. Especially to those who call him, "Savior and Lord." Only heaven will reveal why He allows these things to take place on earth.



Am I still angry with him? Not to the degree I was. But I am still working on it.
