1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.
If I were to leave you with a word, it would simply be: The devil doesn't give up, and neither should you.
As evil as the world is, there are still people who don't believe that the devil exists. It seems as if people are oblivious to the fact that sin is a real thing. 2 Corinthians 11:14 says, And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.
The devil wants man to believe that he's an angel of light. He decieves man into thinking that he is good and that God is bad. But the devil is a liar, and the father of lies.
The devil is spirit: he is not a man or even a figment of man's imagination. He is a real being. The Bible says for the thief, cometh not but for to steal and to kill and to destroy: but Jesus comes to give life and to give it more abundantly.
This message is not meant to give the devil any glory but to reiterate to the believer that there's an enemy roaring about.
Satan is likened to that of a high-ranking military official, with sophisticated intelligence on mankind.
Yes, the devil is a soldier. He's a combat veteran who specializes in the destruction of humanity. He knows man better than man knows himself.
Although all power belongs to God, he does have some power. He's ultimately responsible for the condition that the world is in today.
The thing I find interesting about the characteristic of the devil is that he never gives up. He desires to fight man tooth and nail til the end of man's life.
Jesus tells his disciples in Luke 10:19, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
All power means absolute power over all of his works. Nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Galatians 6:9 (KJV) says, "And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
The problem is that man is fainting before his season, and as a result, his season is delayed. The devil is after your testimony in Jesus Christ. His goal is to have you backslid on God and eventually miss heaven.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 says Abstain from all appearance of evil. How many of you know that most of what's on social media is evil.
Sometimes, you have to put the phone down and turn the TV and computer off. Technology didn't come from God. It came from the knowledge of the tree of good and evil. It's of the devil.
That's why it's important to be mindful of what you watch(I'm preaching to myself). There's evil all around us.
The devil has a well trained army of demonic forces. He assigns demons to the life of every human being on planet Earth. God assigns an angel over your life, and the devil assigns a demon. The demon assignment is to temp, watch, and enslave you with the sin you participate in.
The more you engage with that particular sin, the stronger the bondage becomes. Now, you'll need deliverance.
Sin is the primary reason why we backslide on God. Aren't you glad that God is married to the backslidder. Aren't you glad that God is a God of another chance.
If it had not been for the grace and mercies of God, where would the backslidder be.
That alone is enough for you to give God praise.
The devil wants you to focus on what's wrong in your life instead of the grace that God has given you through Jesus Christ.
God is a keeper: He's able to keep you if you want to be kept. He's everything you need him to be if you have the faith to believe and to wait on the Lord.
God doesn't want you to give up just because life is not going the way you want life to go.
If we're honest with ourselves, we usually make life what it is.
That's why it's important to develop a prayer life and pray for yourself. In addition to that, you also have to fast.
2 Corinthians 10 says, "For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.
When you pray and fast consistently, you are pulling down strongholds.
You have to be consistent because the devil never gives up.
The word of God tells us to be sober and vigilant.
when the mind is not sober and vigilant, our minds are open, giving room to the devil.
An unsober mind can lead to an unstable soul. As a result, the end goal is possession. That's why it's important to think about what you think about.
So 1 Peter 5:8-9 (KJV) Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
The devil is a devouring spirit. It doesn't matter who you are, what position you hold in life. The devil wants your soul. He has deceived men into thinking that there is a paradise for those who serve him, but the devil is a liar. The devil doesn't make deals with man. He hates the human family.
So when you think about giving up, just remember that the devil never gives up, and neither should you.
