As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her and he said, “Don’t cry.” Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” 1he dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. Luke 7:12-15 NIV

What a wonderful sharing we have here of the love and compassion of our Lord. He knew that this woman was a widow and that the dead man was her only son. He knew the pain in her heart. He approached her, telling her not to cry. He then raised the man from death and gave him back to his mother. Do you know that Christ knows the pain, disappointment and all that resides in your heart? Can you hear Him call to you, telling you not to cry? Let Christ raise you from the dead that is in your heart, disappointments, depression, lack of purpose, all that keeps you from having true life. Hear Him call to you. Let Him wipe the tears from your eyes. He is the One who can provide true healing, that which comes from no one but Him.
