He was not far from the house when the centurion sent friends to say to him: “Lord, don’t trouble yourself, for I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. That is why I did not even consider myself worthy to come to you. But say the word, and my servant will be healed. Luke 7:6b-7 NIV
This centurion understood authority, as he had men who served under him. This man had faith in understanding the authority of Jesus. This man understood that he was not worthy of anything which Jesus might do for him, yet he still houmbly said that he knew the authority of Jesus. His request was not even for himself, but for his servant. May we be like this centurion in our approach to the Lord and our faith in Him.
