“But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.” Luke 6:24-26 NIV

Is there condemnation for all those who are rich, well fed and spoken of highly? I believe that what Jesus is saying is that what we must first seek is wealth, and feeding from God and recognition of the fact that God loves us and wants a personal relationship with each of us. If we are blessed with material wealth, let us use it for God’s kingdom. If we are well fed, let us help to nourish others. If we have recognition, let us make it known that in recognition we have from mankind has been given to us by God and it is from His doing that we have such recognition.

Good direction. Many of the worldly do not find it within themselves to share anything of their wealth/possessions.
