Questioning parents might begin as early as 2 or 3 years old.

‘Why?’

As an adult, I direct my questions to our all knowing Father.

'Why?'

Why is this happening to me? Why do people suffer? LORD, why do so many people reject you?

I don’t understand why he has so much patience with me. My finite mind cannot grasp the ways of infinite God. 

I find it easy to trust Him on routine days but what about His will for my future?

Do I question His plan?

Sometimes I falter.

God's answers may not come in my lifetime.

I must trust Him in the silences.

Jesus was silent…

“And behold, a Canaanite woman from that region came out and was crying, ‘Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David; my daughter is severely oppressed by a demon.’ But he did not answer her a word (Matthew 15:22-23a ESV).”

'Why?'

His delays stretch our faith.

“Then Jesus answered her, ‘O woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire.’ And her daughter was healed instantly (Matthew 15:28 ESV).”

The Father sometimes answers no. I must trust His will.

"And He said, 'Abba, Father! All things are possible for You. Take this cup away from Me. Nevertheless, not what I will, but what You will (Mark 14:36 ESV)."
