The tree said to the river
Why can't you keep still?
The river replied I was born to flow,
With luck, I always will.

But river, you have no roots,
While I am not free to dance.
I give oxygen through each leaf
My fruit has not grown by chance.

I'm not exactly useless,
Said the river to the tree.
Do you know how many fish exist
As they depend on me?

I'm stable, I'm able to rise
With the sun.
I've so many insects
Who love to have fun!

Ants, caterpillars, fruit flies pursue
As do the birds,
As they're prone to do.

So, what is your problem?
Came the wet reply.
You have your purpose,
But then, so do I.

The oceans send waters
To fill me with ease.
The moon has an interest in tides,
If you please.

Don't look down on me
As you find your way out.
And don't forget
rain will sustain you through drought.

So here we have nature,
Each one has it's place.
In this tapestry of life,
You'll always find Grace.
