Hourglass

Memories of lost loved ones became like grains of sand.

Diving through the spine of an hourglass.

Making way into my soul,

the weight of each grain searches for a place to coexist among the others.

In the Silent Chaos,

I feel the pressure of the world's time as the sand runs thin.

And the hour swiftly approaching.

Little to no hope left,

she feels there won't be another grain of sand left inside

to remind her of who really God is.

 Why did these memories had to become so many?

Just to become so few after the ones we love pass on.

The seconds left are drawing closer to the end.

He flips the hourglass over.

Silent... beautiful... chaos.

Grain by grain,

Memory by memory.

The Savior begins to illuminate them with His perfect healing light.

No longer fighting for a place to rest,

finding only comfort in the stillness.

Sifting through the sands of time,

He begins to fill the spaces once occupied by fear.

Replacing them with His peace,

A real peace

That surpasses the extent of all my understanding.

 

He slowed down time to let me see what I couldn't.

In the deepest pits of elongated grief.

 Thank you, Jesus, for your sacrifice!
