WELCOME THE NEW YEAR, WITH GOD’S HELP

Today is the 3rd day of the New Year, 2005. What a privilege to be able to be so blessed that we can rejoice no matter what our circumstances are! All that should matter is that we were able to get out of bed today and have today to live for the Lord.

As we enter the New Year, we have no idea what lies ahead for us. We may make plans, and do our best to fulfill them, but only God knows what is down the road. Many of us have had struggles in different areas of our lives that required us to draw closer to God and call on Him. Many have had traumatic events occur and yet we still find ourselves complaining. That won’t get you anywhere!

In pain, sickness, trials, sadness, loss of a loved one, we all need time to grieve and turn to God. After we feel the strength to go on, go back to God and rely on Him for your strength. Take time to spend in prayer and read the Bible. He will sustain you! So—reverse it when you feel like giving up and go to God! Don’t depend on yourself, you will fail.

If you believe the Bible is God’s word and was given to us as a guide through life, you will find strength by reading God’s promises to us in His word. Take a moment to read a little each day and you will find yourself reading through the Bible in a year or less! You will be amazed at God’s word to you, if your heart is open and you are listening! It is never too late to start!

You may say, “I have gone to God, but he hasn’t listened, or answered my prayers” and I will still tell you to rely on Him anyhow, he won’t fail you! Our time and God’s are not the same. He will answer in HIS time.

Will you give God a chance? Will you rely on Him? This New Year will be full of changes, uncertainties, and questions and how you handle it will depend on you and whether or not, you are relying on God. This New Year is also full of possibilities that await us! Excitement, joy, and love await us if we are open to change. We all have to change our clothes each day and that is a small thing. There will be many more “small” and “large” things we will face but with God’s help==we will be victorious!

I’m not saying there won’t be tears involved, sadness, disappointment, but I hope you will turn to God in those times. The Bible clearly speaks of our most wonderful, unchanging God, who is there every moment of the day! Keep your eyes on HIM!
