Finds you single without choice,
Finds you in a place you're confident 
Someone will hear your voice.

Widowhood is knowing you reside
Right here and now.
Yesterday had its place.
It's gone, so you allowed
Today, all your tomorrow's, 
Hopes and dreams you usher in,
Knowing they will manifest, 
When they will begin.

Widowhood finds you living
The second time around,
Believing you have found something 
Unexpected, surprising, 
Surmising whether it's true.
If so, it's worth pursuing, 
Because it is new.
