The bay of Parables
Tucked away in the lake of Kinneret
On the shores of Galilee.
The bay from which the Lord taught
Hidden meanings of life to be learned from.
The bay of Parables
Here the mustard seed
Grew into the largest plant.
It meant that faith however small
Can move the mountains into the sea.
The bay of Parables
Here the pearl found in the field
Was more priceless than any treasure.
It meant that when we have the Lord
We sell all earthly things to be his forever.
The bay of Parables
Here the net cast into the waters
Brought forth hundreds of fishes.
It meant that we are fishers of men
To bring a large number unto the Lord.
The bay of Parables
Here the seed scattered onto the ground
Yielded as per the soil, rock and thorns.
It meant that when we receive his word
Our hearts should be a growing place
To give a fruitful corn to us and the world.
The bay of Parables
Here the good seed was spoiled by weeds
Both grew together until harvest time.
It meant that the good and bad live together
But at the end of time the weeds will be pulled away
The good will inherit eternal life.
The bay of Parables
Here the father loves both his sons.
When one strays away, the father still waits
Waits to welcome the Prodigal son
Gives him the finest ring and richest feast.
The bay of Parables
The Prodigal son teaches us
Our heavenly Father too waits for us
Waits to welcome with open arms.
When we turn from him and return back
He puts his kinship ring on our finger.
