Off The Shore

One day as Jesus was standing by the Lake of Gennesaret, the people were crowding around him and listening to the word of God. He saw at the water’s edge two boats, left there by the fishermen, who were washing their nets. He got into one of the boats, the one belonging to Simon, and asked him to put out a little from shore. Then he sat down and taught the people from the boat. Luke 5:1-3 NIV

By putting out a short distance from the shore, more people were able to see Him and His voice would be heard by more than if He had been crowded around on shore. The message of the Lord was important as He shared the message from the Father. Jesus makes His message available to all who will listen. It is easier to listen to a message if one can see the speaker. Today we listen to Jesus with our heart and read the word of God and spend time in prayer with the Lord.
