Our Good Shepherd

How gentle is our Shepherd,
Caring tenderly for His own!
He sees our needs and weakness;
And many things, to us unknown.

How oft’ He guards and protects us,
From the evil, and pain, or harm!
He is our strong defender,
And we’re safe within His arms.

How great His love, as He leads us,
Through dark valleys, trials, and tests!
For He seeks to draw us nearer,
That our soul in Him might rest.

How our Shepherd delights to give
Good gifts, that delight our soul!
But in Him is our greatest joy,
For He alone can make us whole.

Oh what joy, to walk with Jesus,
Our good and faithful Shepherd, and Guide!
He still remains, steadfast and true,
And wants to walk by our side.
