Two are better than just one,
Good reward for their labor;
Faster to get the job done,
When you assist your neighbor.

If one falls another aids,
Enabled to lift him up;
The fear of loneliness fades,
When you are sharing a cup.

Man and wife lie together,
Mutual warmth shares the heat;
When lying alone neither,
Feels not the warmth of their feet.

Man prevails with one alone,
But two would be resisting;
A threefold cord like a bone,
A threat that is existing.
