"Then came Amalek, and fought with Israel in Rephidim." Exodus 17:8.

The Lord our God loves His people and rescues them from all forms of slavery or captivity. He walks amid His people to protect them on their journey to their land of rest.

This was the case with the Jews when they were set free from Egypt, the land of their slavery for four hundred and thirty years. During their journey to the land flowing with milk and honey, the land of Canaan, another problem confronted them. The Amalekites confronted them by lying in wait for them to destroy the people of God.

They did this to their destruction because
"And Joshua discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword." Exodus 17:13.

The Lord Who was with them used Joshua and his other soldiers to overcome the double-crossed them to eliminate them.

Not only that, the attack of the people of God by Amalek and his people laid for the generations after them.

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua: for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven." Exodus17:14.

For everything there is a season and a time for every purpose (Ecclesiastes 3:1-8) which the Lord has desired to carry out; decades later, the Lord remembered what was written in the book and He gave instructions on the next line of action to actualize what He had purposed. By the mouth of Prophet Samuel, He disclosed,
"Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way when he came up from Egypt.
Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass." 1 Samuel 15:2-3.

One thing is clear, when Amalek was planning to destroy the children of Israel on their way to their land of rest, he did not know that it would be the other way round. He and his people went I'm the way of all flesh according to their "desire" because they started the trouble that consumed them.

Beloved Pilgrim, do not instruct anyone to distort his journey to the promised land. The consequences could be too grave to bear. It can boomerang to an unexpected end.
If you do not plan any evil against anyone, whoever wants to do you any evil will have himself destroyed I'm the name of Jesus Christ. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
