Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit, left the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness, where for forty days he was tempted by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry. Luke 4:1-2 NIV

We must remember that Jesus was like us except for sin. He had bodily needs, like sleep and food. Yet He left the Jordan river, filled with the Holy Spirit, and ate nothing for forty days. The devil used this to try and get Jesus to change stones into bread. Yes, Jesus, just like us, was tempted by Satan. So, we can’t say that Jesus did not face the temptation we face. That just is not true. Where we will at times succumb to tempataion, Jesus did not.
