Choosing to not defend ourselves, we can appeal our case to a higher court, even to the Supreme Court, even to the Court that truly is Supreme. There the Son of David, who once appealed his own case in the same way, advocates and argues masterfully in our defense before His Father.
Seeing ourselves for who we are through His eyes and bathed in His blood and robed in His righteousness, and seeing ourselves in the mirror 🪞 of God's word apart from that, compels us to follow up with certain kinds of forordained actions, in certain kinds of ways, which are unique to each one of us who are His own.
