One of the devastating things in life is to be a stranger to oneself. To be a stranger to oneself involves not knowing what you love or hate, what is beneficial to you, and what is not. To crown it all, not knowing who you are in destiny.

To be ignorant of one's mission in life is to live a meaningless life. Such a life will become a total waste, benefitting no one. It can cause someone to pursue things not profitable for or relevant to his fulfillment of destiny.

There have been many people who could not capture the actual picture of their essence of coming into the world. Many times, they work against their destiny. To God be the glory, the Lord Who sent them here usually comes in to achieve His purposes for their lives, although such people may have to live with some wounds, spiritual or emotional/psychological. Sometimes, physical wounds may be suffered.

Jacob's destiny
He was the preferred of the two men born by their parents. He was to carry out a chunk of the duty of multiplication promised by his grandfather, Abraham. His mother was informed that two nations were in her womb during pregnancy and that the elder would serve the younger.

I don't think it is wrong to conclude that divine instructions given him were, "Go into the world to form the twelve tribes that will form a populous nation for me." This was to have a great influence or reference point here on the Earth and in Heaven.

On the Earth.
Twelve sons of Jacob formed the Twelve Tribes in the nation of Israel.
*Moses sent twelve spies to Canaan, each from a tribe.
*The people of Israel brought out twelve stones from Jordan and Joshua set up twelve stones amid Jordan, each taken by a representative of each tribe.

In Heaven:
There are twelve thrones, twelve foundations, and twelve gates in  Heaven.

Distortion by Jacob.
Do you know that this great man worked against his destiny? I think he did not know who he was or he saw a limited sum of himself. He was without measure in love with a woman, Rachel, who gave birth to only two children. No love was lost between him and Leah, the first wife who gave birth to six sons and a daughter. He went into the two housemaids at the requests of the two Mistresses, Leah and Rachel. He was never interested in marrying the servant girls.

Jacob demonstrated his hatred for the first ten sons when he was about to go to the land of Egypt. He told them when they requested to take Benjamin along to Egypt to buy food for the family, "Ye know that my wife bares me two sons." The question now arises, "Who was the father of the other ten sons?"

Divine intervention
It was a divine intervention that helped Jacob to fulfill his divine assignment. Otherwise, he would have truncated it completely. He was satisfied with two sons by his sweetheart, Rachel. To God be the glory Who recognized the twelve sons as His people without discrimination.

My beloved Pilgrim, irrespective of what you have done to disrupt your divine assignment on the Earth, the Lord will intervene and you will be back on track to fulfill your destiny in Jesus mighty name. He will also help you to bear any pain associated with such intervention so that you will not murmur or grumble in The name of Jesus Christ. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
