     There is an adage which many have seemed to have forgotten in our modern age: “Dance with the one who brung ya!”  In short—be loyal to those upright things in your life that have helped to make you stronger in your walk with Christ.  This is true of certain people and—yes—one certain version of the Bible, the good ‘ol KJV of 1611.

       The late Jack Chick, through his ‘Chick Tracts’ was a major inspiration to me during my formative years as a Christian.  He helped ‘get my mind right’ by sticking with the King James Version of the Scriptures.  And, as anyone who follows ‘Chick Tracts’ knows, Jack stuck with the KJV in his comics, from beginning to end.  Perhaps THIS is one of the major reasons why ‘Chick Tracts’ have stood the test of time—and STILL do!

      It saddens me to see so many preachers, churches, and ministries ‘mixing’ their Bible translations, either because they weren’t taught right, were ‘seduced’ by the spirit of the age or are just plain ignorant of the scriptures.  Bottom line?  One who sticks with the KJV does not have to ‘worry’ about ‘getting’ the power of the Word—they already HAVE IT!  Amen! 

      One of the more bedrock issues of ‘selecting’ a Bible translation for preaching, study and consumption is the following: What does it proclaim about Jesus Christ?  Does the translation put forth an image of Jesus as being a ’98-pound weakling’?  Or does it paint the Master as ‘the King of Kings and Lord of Lords’?  In short, does your translation handle Jesus with the respect and reverence that He is due, or does it treat our Lord as an afterthought of God?

      Lately, I’ve been delving into what I could best be described as ‘special projects’ as a part of my KJV Bible study.  I must keep my skills sharp in the Word!  I’ve been led into studying the Blood of Jesus Christ—a subject area which many preachers and congregations seem to ignore.  It is the Blood of Jesus that washes us clean from sin; it is the Blood of Jesus that differentiates the Christian—the Saint from the Sinner.  Further, it is the Blood of Jesus that protects us from the evil one and all of his minions.  I am a Christian by the Blood of the Lamb (Rev. 12:11).

      Here’s a simple test:  How does your translation ‘stack up’ against the KJV in terms of the Blood?  Does your translation leave out verses about the Blood of Jesus?  IF it does, you may want to head back to the KJV.  You’ve been away too long.  Your defenses have been breached!  The days are dark, indeed.  The KJV Bible has more than enough light to fill you, build you, and keep you!  Why ‘settle’ for weaker translations when you can become an overcomer with the KJV!  Get back to the fight, brothers, with the right sword!
