Woe to those who desire,
Unto that day of the Lord;
When daylight does expire,
And darkness full of discord.

As man flees from the lion,
And a bear enters his home;
Trying to flee to Zion,
But a serpent starts to roam.

It is darkness and not light,
A gloom without a brightness;
When it would never feel right,
For dealing with uprightness.

I hate and despise the feast,
I am not pleased with meeting;
Where all the joy has decreased,
From those who have been cheating.

Though you give burnt offerings,
God can’t take a fattened beast;
To make peace for sufferings,
If the conflict has not ceased.

Take away the noise of song,
The melody of the harp;
Disobedience is wrong,
From those without a pure heart.

Let justice roll as water,
Righteousness a mighty stream;
Letting your son and daughter,
Unto God never blaspheme.
