Then they all went home, but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. John 7:53- 8:1 NIV
After scolding Nicodemus, all present headed for home. Jesus instead headed for the Mount of Olives. Why did He head there? Quite possibly to pray, but keep in mind that Jesus had no permanent residence. Sure, sometimes He would stay at somone’s house for the night, but He had no earthly residence. Marvel at the fact that the Son of God had no permanent residence on earth. This would make sense though as He was not of this earth. How often did Jesus not sleep without having a place to lay His head? Yes, He was supernatural, yet, He lived within human flesh.
