Proverbs are words that convey deep meanings. They are good means of saying great things with wisdom. A Proverb can be immediately understood while another may take some time. Yet, a Proverb plays a great role in the affairs of man.

This channel was exploited by the Lord Jesus Christ during his Earthly Ministry. This gives room for the Proverb contained in the Gospel of Jesus Christ as narrated by Apostle Luke in chapter fifteen.

"[11]To illustrate the point further, Jesus told them this story: “A man had two sons.
[12]The younger son told his father, ‘I want my share of your estate now before you die.’ So his father agreed to divide his wealth between his sons." Luke 15. New Living Transaction (NLT).

In this part of the analysis of the story of the wasteful son, consideration is given to his good attributes. It is noteworthy that he was not born a prodigal son. He was not given the name of his father. It was his behaviors later in life that earned him the name, "the Prodigal Son".

Now, let us consider his virtues:
*He was truly born into his father's house. He was a true son of his father. He was genuinely born into the family.

This points to the fact that everyone who wants to claim to be a child of God must be sincerely born into His home. He must be a true child of God in every sense of the word.

**He recognized the truth of His father's wealth. He knew the father that he had and the level of his possessions. He was aware of the fact that his father had the final authority over all that he owned and could distribute it the way he loved.

Sons and daughters of the Lord should have this mentality that their Heavenly Father owns all things and He can give whoever He is pleased with, especially His children. This will prevent them from running to another source for help or wealth. They have to recognize the truth that there is no need for them to look elsewhere for their needs.

***He was confident that he was entitled to a certain portion of his father's possessions. Because he had a smooth relationship with his father so far, with boldness, he approached his father for his portion of his father's possessions.

Without any objections, the father gave him his portion because of his deep relationship with the son. He also did so joyfully because his son recognized him as his father and to whom the son could turn for his entitlements.

Beloved Pilgrim, how is your relationship with your Father in Heaven? Are you close to Him to the extent that He can answer you speedily? Can you receive from Him with boldness? Do you recognize God as your only source or do you think or have other alternatives to Him?
The Prodigal Son had only one source and did not have multiple sources. Do not have multiple sources besides the Lord; it will not be in your favor. In the second part of this piece, you will understand the error of the Prodigal Son to avoid. If you are right with God, He will be right with you. Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
