The common troubles with mankind are greatly rooted in his numerous wants. He wants almost everything at the same time. The sad aspect of it is that those who are saved children of God are equally involved. This "mad rush for mundane things" denies the Elects of God the needed rest and peace that their Savior has prepared for them.

This ought not to be so.

After King Jehoiachin of Judah who was carried away to captivity was set free from the dungeon, King Evil-Merodach of Babylon commanded that he should be given "his daily portion until the day of his death, all the days of his life".

Fellow Pilgrim, do you know that you were also "a Sinner ready to perish" before the Lord your God came to rescue you? That was who you were. By so doing, he has provided for your rest and peace. Your daily portion is readily available. This should be your prayers and desire. Since you are now a disciple of Jesus Christ, follow the instructions of the Lord to His disciples who asked Him to teach them how to pray. He included this: "Give us this day, our daily bread". If the Lord provides your daily bread, then, be grateful to Him. Be content with His daily provision. By so doing, you will have peace of mind to live a righteous life.

Of all your labor under the sun, only your daily portion is your entitlement. Get it as the Lord provides it. Do not be encumbered with wants and worries of life and it shall be well with your soul in the name of Jesus Christ.

Do not misconstrue the purpose of this piece. It does not encourage indolence or laziness. Whoever will not work should not eat. So be hardworking to get your daily portion from your Heavenly Father.

Therefore, do not join those who do not know their God but pursue things of the world to acquire them for their selfish reason. May the Lord help you to live a life filled with God's rest and peace in the name of Jesus Christ. The Lord is coming soon, prepare to meet Him.
