The house of God on earth is the awesome gate of heaven! There is authority in the gate. We can legislate from the gate. But the earth is jealous of heaven, and the higher we ascend above, earth keeps trying, in rude  desperation, all the more to yank us back down to itself. The only solution is to get all tangled up with God and to grapple with His Greatness. That way we can't be yanked downward or jerked around so easily, though, it's true, we may come away limping and more dependent, and trying to remember, "Now what did God say?" Yet it is not so much what God says or what God said, (as important as that is) as it is the fact that it was God and it is God saying it.
