Such As These, Children

He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these.” Mark 10:14b NIV

So, what is it about children that led Jesus to say this statement? Children cannot properly take care of themselves. They need an adult to parent them during their years as a child. Children have faith. Children do not understand all the harm that could befall them if they are not cared for properly. God wants us to know that on our own we can’t take care of ourselves properly. This is because we are sinful by nature and need someone to guide us through life and prepare us for our eternal residence. God the Father provided the One to guide us through life, His Son Jesus Christ. Accept God’s kingdom as a child. It is the only way.
