Simon Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God.” Matthew 16:16 NIV
Simon Peter declares Jesus to be the Son of God, yet later in one evening denies three times that he even knew Jesus. How often do we proclaim Jesus to be our Lord and Savior, yet we turn against Him and disobey what we are asked to do. So, what happens to cause this? Many different things, doubt, fear, and others. Our faith is at times limited and we are also sinful by nature. It is only through Christ that we are made whole and righteous in the eyes of the Father. Jesus as He restored Peter as the one on whom the church would be bulit, so we are restored when we return to Christ. He will always forgive the repentant heart.
