In every assembly of people of God, there are all kinds of men and women. Each person is under the influence of Mr flesh in varying degrees. Some have reasonable control over flesh while others may still be battling with it seriously. That is the reason we have different types of brethren even in the house of God. Those who have control over the flesh have been helped to submit themselves to the control of the Holy Spirit.

This has given rise to celebrated brethren.
Celebrated Brethren.
In the first part of this write-up, it is explained that David called the sons of Belial and wicked men with their evil and selfish counsel his brethren. He did not consent to their advice.

Among the people of God are those who are under the control of the Spirit of God. They know their onions. They have their duties and they perform them diligently.

During Absalom's rebellion, King David was driven out of the palace for some time. When the rebellion was brought to an end, the leader lost his life. It was sad that he happened to be the king's delight. At this point, the question remained, " Who will bell the cat?" Who was fit to inform the king of the demise of his delight?

It was then that Joab the captain of the host singled Cush out to break the news to the King. A hard task! It required wisdom. Cushi was a fit and proper person for the assignment. He was sent! He was a celebrated brethren. He had the material for the mission. He was equipped for his assignment.

When he was far off, the watchman saw him running alone and he informed the king. His response was, "He also brings good tidings" 2 Samuel 18:26. A brethren with good news! That was Cushi for you. He mildly presented the message of victory with wisdom to the king who loved the dead rebel leader but he (the king) understood it. Details are contained in 2 Samuel 18.

Among the king's brethren was Ahimaaz, the son of Zadok, the Priest. When the watchman saw him running, the king's response was similar to that of Cushi. He was a man with good news.

One sad thing is that he gave himself the assignment of running without a message. He ran another man's race without any results to his shame. He got to King David's place but had no message to deliver. His running was unprofitable.

Do you know that Ahimaaz was a good brethren? He was sent with one Jonathan ( not the son of King Saul) to tell King David not to stay in the plain on that night when he fled from the palace. This was at the time when Ahitophel's counsel was defeated by Hushai. Ahimaaz and Jonathan delivered the message successfully and the king's life was preserved. Details are contained in 2 Samuel 17.

Do you know what? Cushi and Ahimaaz were celebrated brethren but there was a time that one became envious of the other's assignment. Among brethren o!

Beloved brethren, do you know your assignment in the ministry? Do you stay in it? Are you poke-nosing into another person's assignment? Why can't you face your assignment to end it faithfully and successfully? If you have been raised as a Sunday School teacher, it is all well and good. You have no reason to covet the work of a man raised to carry out the task of Bible exposition. Do not wish you were given the assignment. No!. Do not hate or be angry at the fellow given that work.

Run your race with your message. There lies your rewards. You can not do the work given to another person successfully. Run your race to receive your rewards. Be celebrated brethren for the glory of God. Remain blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
