It is part of God's plan for His people to flourish. He blessed the first couple to, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth." Genesis 1:28.(KJV).

So, it is not an evil desire to pray and work hard to prosper.

I had a discussion recently with a sister who seems to believe that everyone who flourishes must have had an encounter with the devil. She spoke as if it is God's plan for His people to be poor forever. There are many Saints who hold the same wrong view. I made her realize that God owns everything and blesses His people.

The devil by deception indeed makes some people "flourish". One thing to know is that the devil created nothing and he is a thief stealing, killing, and destroying the things of God. He was also created by God.

When people are possessed and prospered by the devil, it fulfills his tripartite roles of stealing, killing, and destroying. That is why the Songwriter of Israel says that the wicked spring up and workers of iniquity do flourish that they may perish, Psalm 92: 7.

The Righteous.
Those who are on the Lord's side have the right to flourish. The reason is that they are in the dwelling place of the Custodian of the Personality Who is in control of all things on Earth and in Heaven. The Lord by His mercy and loving kindness satisfy their souls, even in draught. It is worthy of note that this provision is not for a season but everlasting. The righteous flourish forever. Psalm 92 vs 10-15.

Reflection.
Do you want to flourish? How do you want to flourish? Do you want to flourish to be destroyed or to flourish forever? You do not need to be envious of the wicked who "prosper" in their ways for their destruction. Of what value will their temporary prosperity be when they perish?

It will be to your advantage to flourish in the court of your Creator. It is the Lord Who will give you all that you need to flourish and will keep you doing so forever. May the Lord help you to wait for His time to bless you with everlasting blessings in Jesus' mighty name. Go and flourish forever! Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord.
