Herein Jesus quotes the prophet Isaiah to the Pharisees. Before we jump on the band wagon and jeer at the Pharisees, do we ever pay lip service to the Lord, with our heart being somewhere else? It is easy to get caught up in worldly desires. Attending church does not save us. Christ saves, but the heart must be devoted to Him and not just the lips. If your lips pay homage to the Lord, make sure also that your heart is in the proper place.
