Encouragement
Have you ever wondered why to Jacob an angel was sent,
And what Jacob wrestling that angel actually meant.
I arose with this thought on my mind,
And through prayer and study, God opened my mind
To see the message He was sending in His word
And this message, I had never witnessed or heard.
Jacob wrestled with the angel to gain strength,
And his endurance was represented in the battle’s length.
Jacob wasn’t so quick to quit and give up;
For, a mere misplaced hip wasn’t enough
To stop him for fighting for the promise God had made
Or to make him give up on the prayer he had prayed.
After reading and understanding the true meaning of this,
I’ve decided to hold on and insist
That I wrestle with God’s angel and not let go
Until He gives me victory and blesses my soul.
I will wrestle with the burdens I bare
And the troubles and trials I share
Until God chooses to bless me in a mighty way;
For, I will wrestle through my night to see the break of day.
I’m wrestling with God’s angel in the midnight hour, all alone,
And this battle will change me, deliver me, and make me strong.
