Unmerited Love

Oh how God loves His children dear;
How He bends down, their prayer to hear.
How tenderly He guides their way;
Walking so near them ev’ry day.

Each of their weaknesses, He knows;
Yet mercy and grace, He bestows.
His strength He gives without measure;
Though but dust, they hold this treasure.

God’s kindnesses are without number,
Whether His loved ones wake, or slumber.
Little love notes, how often He sends,
And delights to call His children, friends.

God sees them not as full of sin,
When His Son’s blood has cleansed within.
Perfect and holy, in His sight,
Are God’s own; who walk in His light.

God has chosen them as His own;
He sees each one, from His great throne.
Not for good works that they have done;
But for His praise, He chose each one.

Sometimes in love, He chastens sore,
To change them to His likeness more;
But He never leaves them alone,
For they are His blood bought; His own!

God allows testing, and trials too,
To cleanse, purify, and make them true.
Yet His love will not fail or end,
As on their God, they lean, and depend.

God’s grace they know, for ev’ry day,
And His sweet song along the way.
His love transforms their heart and mind;
His love for others, they will find.

God’s great love for His children dear,
Bids them draw nigh Him, without fear.
He intercedes for them above,
And gives unmerited, perfect love.
