If a connection is meant to be a two way street
Then people need to learn how to start moving their feet
Sitting idle and expecting things in return
Is a fast track to having any form of relationship burn

Discern every aspect of communication and what is needed
The attention from another person shouldn’t be pleaded
If they aren’t willing to share equal effort into it all
Then perhaps the amount of time you have for them should fall

Don’t be the only one making a form of sacrifice
You shouldn’t be stuck alone paying a price
If they’re not willing to reciprocate what it is you give
Then they never truly appreciated how it is you live

Nobody who disrespects you is worth the burden
Trying to force things to change will only make your heart harden
There’s nothing wrong with giving forgiveness and loving from a distance
Especially if the only trait they’ve shown is the element of resistance
