“Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water? John 4:11 NIV

Not knowing with whom she was speaking look at the 3 issues she places before the Lord in response to His prior statement to her. First, she says to Him that He has nothing with which to draw the water. Second, she states that the well is deep. Finally, she asks where it is that He would even get this ‘living water’. Are we not like this woman in our approach to Jesus? Do we analyze our situation and come up with every reason why Jesus either can’t or won’t provide for our need? I am sure we are all guilty of this at times. Instead why don’t we leave our needs at the foot of the cross, and just trust in the power and ability of our Lord, and know that He will answer our prayer in the best way, even if it is not the manner in which we would wish it to be answered. Trust in Him is what is required. Trust and see that which is received. All we have to offer is faith. The power to provide comes from the Lord.
