Well the snakes back out now
He’s biting his way through the peaceful border
Like enemy lines being starved by the cold weather
So hungry he hollers and we foolishly listen
Please make it all go now
Make this a peaceful Christmas, make things ok
But we all know that’s a pipe dream
This year we realize the meaning in the saying
“The battle has finally begun”
I know the outcome, as a prophet of old
But the thing that haunts me is the people who don’t
Cause I love them
Although I’m not good to them
And when I tell the truth, you see
Well they don’t believe it cause they have been bitten
I need to find some medicine
Like a flattened rattler who has some left over venom
Who will find one, cause that’s not what the department stores are selling
Not this year anyway
There only selling poison candy
Sweet to our tongues, but an enemy to our families
So dig me a hole now, cause its better to be away from this
Then to be swallowed whole
But my answers they have not come to me
I will wait till the time, dark and quiet when they find me.
