In Awe Of My God

When I hear the birds singing,
Even when the skies are gray;
Or I see them seeking food,
From dawn, until close of day;
I’m reminded to praise God,
No matter what comes my way,
And that He sees what I need,
And will provide ev’ry day!

I see the little flowers,
So beautiful, though very small;
Oft’ unnoticed, still they shine,
For their God, Who sees them all.
I’m reminded God sees me,
Though I may be weak and small.
He sees when I live for Him;
Giving to My Lord, my all.

I see the rainbow, shining,
When the rain is pouring fast;
For the sun shines right through it,
The greater beauty to cast.
I think of God’s promises,
That cannot fail; but will last.
They shine brighter in the storm,
As His faithful hand holds us fast.

I see the first rays of sun,
Pushing the shadows away;
Brighter and brighter they shine,
Into glorious light of day.
I think how God first loved me,
And drew me into His way;
Pushing away my darkness;
That I’d shine for Him, each day.

I see the streams, and great rivers,
E’er seeking the lowest place;
Giving life, and beauty to all,
As downward, they ever race.
I think how Jesus came down,
To bring life, mercy, and grace.
He laid down His life, in love,
And took ev’ry sinner’s place.

I see the tow’ring mountains,
Ever pointing up to God;
So magnificent and great,
Our hearts, with them, are awed!
I think how man would conquer them;
Upon their great heights to trod;
Yet their full splendor we can’t grasp;
So like the greatness of God!

As I look at all God’s works,
I see His great, loving hand.
His power, and majesty,
I can’t fully understand;
But my heart bows in worship,
To my God, Who holds my hand;
As I seek to know Him more,
Until before Him, I stand.
