ANTICIPATION

My heart waits with expectancy
All of nature is anxious, too;
Spring groans with anticipation
To make all things brand new.

Snow falls down, pretentiously
It seems out-of-place;
As robins strut impatiently
And winter slows her pace.

Earth sprouts tender blades of green
Neath skies of azure blue;
The crocus rise up, bravely,
now that winter's wrath is through.

Warm sun rests, timid, on my back
Cool breezes kiss my face;
As winter bows, reluctantly,
And spring reveals her grace.
