Jesus wanted Nicodemus to “think outside of the box”. The box was the close-minded view that God was all about following laws in order to be saved. And, at that the laws were man’s interpretation of God’s commands. Jesus challenges each of us to “think outside of the box”. God’s ways are not man’s and God’s thoughts are high above those of man. There is no way that we can save ourselves from eternal destruction. That can only be done by Christ, who shed His blood on Calvary that we might be saved. Nicodemus began to change his way of thinking. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in the thoughts and ways of the Lord.
