“Ask and it will be given to you;” Matthew 7:7a NIV
In a relationship one should ask for that which they want or need. Do not expect to get everything you ask for, but if you make your needs known you are more likely to get what you want than if you don’t ask at all. The same applies to your relationship with Jesus Christ. Yes, Christ already knows what you want and need, but He still wants you to come to Him in prayer and ask for what you need. Now realize that He already knows what you need and what is good and not good for you. So, if you do not get that for which you ask, instead of finding fault with Christ’s promise here, realize that what you asked for was most likely not in your best interest, or something for your growth was to come from the lack of the request being answered in the affirmative.
