God’s Infinite Provisions
God’s gift of salvation brings forth spiritual prosperity. Indeed, He provides believers with a treasure trove of divine attributes. Every holy virtue comes from Him, and our spirit of godliness emerges. His divine provisions are prosperous and infinite.
True Prosperity
True prosperity isn’t measured in materialism. No, God provides us with food, clothing, and shelter (Matthew 6:25-30). He won’t leave us without the necessities for survival. When we need help with these circumstances, He always ensures we won’t be without. His provisions are exceptional!
The essence of spiritual prosperity comes from the fruit of the Spirit.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23, NASB)
In these two scriptures, God defines prosperity as divine principles anchored in His Spirit. He used Apostle Paul to unfold the blueprint for Christian prosperity. It starts with love and ends with self-control.
When we apply them in our daily lives, He gives us an abundance of their fruit. This unbelievable consciousness of His divine grace motivates us to live according to His will, and in His response, He gives us an endless supply of spiritual nourishment.
It’s not a coincidence that God holds love in high esteem. His two greatest commandments places love above everything else (Matthew 22:36-40). We must love Him above anything; from this action, we discover a love for our neighbors. This eagerness to love comes from the Holy Spirit.
Love leads to God’s great prosperity. When we love Him and extend it to others, our hearts become embraced with the compassion of Christ. And the more we love Him, the greater our love prospers.
Out of love stems an abundance of that other fruit of the Spirit. Indeed, love is the backbone of joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
For example, when we love from the heart, God supplies us with abundant inner peace, bringing overwhelming joy. Because of our love, kindness, goodness, and gentleness increase, and those around us experience Christ-likeness. Our faithfulness rises, and we become more patient. Love provides us with the strength to restrain from defilement through a self-controlled conscience.
Another profitable way God uses love is by forgiving others. Yes, forgiveness is the manifestation of love through letting go of the hurt caused by the sin of others. Forgiving our worst enemies lifts the burden of hurt from our hearts, and God showers us with unbelievable love. It’s difficult forgiving someone who caused severe trauma (emotional, mental, spiritual, or physical) but remember, with God, all things are possible (Luke 1:3).
Conclusion
Spiritual prosperity derives from God’s generous provisions. By no means is this a complete illustration of His heavenly riches? No, His kingdom treasures are a continuous outpouring of His limitless grace. The neat reality of spiritual prosperity is the more we abide in Christ, the more abundant He gives.
