You Are Salt

“You are the salt of the earth.” Matthew 5:13a NIV

We all know that salt, or salt substitutes enhance the flavor of foods. Salt can also have other functions. So, how is it that we are the salt of the earth?

God created the world and everything upon it. Much of what God has created has been abused by mankind for selfish purposes. God wants the love He has for us to be shared amongst ourselves, and He wants His message to be shared with all. Many have not heard the Word of God, or if they have heard it, they choose to ignore it. We, as salt, share of love of God with all we meet, regardless of nationality, beliefs, or other differences. We share God’s Word that it might be spread through all the world. We are the salt. God is the one who changes the heart. Be the salt of the earth.
