Christ the greatest gift from heaven,
Adoring Angels sing His songs,
Clothed in flesh for but a season,
Then to die for all mans wrongs.
Pleased Him to appear so humble,
Born to poorest of the earth,
Could have came adorned in glory,
But chose the meekest in His birth.
He came to raise us from our ashes,
Came to clean our crimson stains,
When you’re washed in Calvary’s river,
There is no more sin that remains.
Praise this princely loving Savior,
Born of only woman’s seed,
None compares for He’s majestic,
In Him alone our sin is freed.
Rises with the wings of heaven,
With arms outstretched to all mankind,
Bids through hearts of lowly creatures,
To leave our sinful lives behind.
Meek He lay beside His mother,
Hailed by Seraphim’s on high,
All earth went on quietly sleeping,
That night only heaven sighed.
