About food offered to idols,
You know we all possess knowledge;
It steers us like bits and bridles,
That we do not fall off the edge.

This knowledge puffs up from the love,
Builds as charity edifies;
That you know something from above,
Which maybe another denies.

They do not know as they ought to,
But if anyone loves the Lord;
Then they will know just what is true,
And know that God has not ignored.

Hence as to the eating of food,
To idols as a sacrifice;
No real existence to elude,
That is conceiving to entice.

For there is only one true God,
Creator of Heaven and earth;
To whom we must honor and laud,
Through Him has given you birth.

Because the Father and the Son,
As well as the Holy Spirit;
The Triune God remains as One,
Eternally reigns to cohabit.
