While away, in the faraway journey, Event sent for me! ” The shade had fallen “ I heard! Twice, more than doubled Angry thoughts ran wild within me The cool, calm and refreshing breeze May no longer be free! As fear and tears with zeal rang the bell Gone!gone!gone! She indeed had gone! Away from her grave I did returned to mine Then, I felt a gentle hand On my struggled shoulder; It is my Lord and He said “ I’m your everlasting shade and shield I won’t die nor fade. Disaster and nature May furiously rage Creatures may fearfully cringe At the threatening of any storm Yet my orders They all must obey. I am your everlasting shade and shield These do always count on1” On this, rest my beloved future What else may I need? He has changed my course From the grave. Faithful, I ‘ve found the loving saviour, Constant my shield in all places, With his tireless eye He do watch over me, And with His sensitive ears My faintest cry He’ll hear. with the depth of his mercy And expanse of his love His loving kindness has let me with Blessed thanks, Blessed hope, And blessed peace divine |
