IN THE REAL WORLD, IT'S NOT EASY AT ALL

I can’t help but remember that old time classic country tune sung by Alan Jackson.  In part it goes like this.  “But here in the real world, cowboys don’t cry and heroes don’t die. Good always wins, again and again. And love is a sweet dream that always comes true. Oh, if life were like movies, I’d never be blue.  But here in the real world, it’s not easy at all, cause when hearts get broken, it’s real tears that  fall.”

In my growing-up years, I was in a childish make-believe world of my own. I imagined that I was a world traveler. I would run the track of my electric train in and under furniture, under beds and around anything that would give temporary relief from all the real world hustle and bustle. My theme was, 'Where am I going?'  as I climbed on board my make-believe train ride. Then, I remember my sadness when the train's electric transformer gave way.

What world are we in now as a people, a country, and as a religion? In what world are we now traveling? Are we in a world of make-believe, of despair, displacement, distraction, non-belief, skepticism, distrust, and anti-religious dictates? On and on we could go. What world are you in, my friend?

According to history, civilizations collapse after about 250 years, and the U.S. is now a few years shy of this mark. America’s Continental Congress declared America as a free nation on July 4^th 1776. So, where is America headed now?

A few years ago, the former chairman of Prince Economics International Ltd, Martin Armstrong released a report labeled “The 2024 Cycle of Political Change.” History dictates that somewhere around 250 years, civilizations tend to collapse. According to the report, democracy tends to falter over a long period of time, starting with voters believing in candidates who make tempting promises and brazen claims, but it always results in a dictatorship.  

Is this disturbing political prophecy about to be fulfilled in our great Republic of America, land of the brave, home of the free? And are the perceived telltale signs of progressive socialism coming true all around us?

It is no secret that America’s original dependence on the God of the Bible in the forming of its founding documents, which led them to submit America’s dictates to Him, is now being challenged more than ever before.   

What has happened to America? Why has the lifeline been broken between America and God? General Washington put it best when he said, “It is impossible to rightly govern the world without God and the Bible.” This philosophy continued with President Abraham Lincoln, who also said, "It’s my constant anxiety and prayer that both myself and this nation should be on the Lord’s side.”

And Benjamin Franklin continued within the framework of these great statesmen by explaining why he requested that each day of the Constitutional Convention be opened in prayer. “The longer I live, the more convincing proofs I see of this, that God governs in the Affairs of Men. Without His concerning aid, we shall succeed in this political Building no better than the Builders of Babel.”

In today’s Twenty-first Century progressive socialistic society, America’s heritage is under attack. America is now in an all-out unseen spiritual war of many unseen battles. Our enemies are the demonic hosts of Satan, aways assembled for mortal battle.  (Ephesians 6:12)

What exactly is the root cause of it all? Simply put, America is now infected with the moral decay of complacency and apathy. The Scripture puts it best in an explanation of hypocrisy (II Timothy 4:1-2), in the perils of apostasy (II Timothy 3:1-9), and the turning away from the faith in (II Timothy 4:3-4).

I realize that in today’s progressive culture, as always before, American will have its skeptics who display a derision of God’s Word (II Peter 3:3-4).           

What may be the answer to America’s ongoing socialistic problems? As always, it’s learning truths through study of the Holy Scripture. (II Timothy 3:16) It’s the much-needed armor for spiritual warfare (Ephesians 6:10-17), and the must needed prayer. (Ephesians 6:18-20)

Always remember -Just as a child belongs to a father and mother, everyone belongs to someone or something. "To belong" means to be the property of or part of a particular group, organization, or class. We do belong to our living Creator, God first, our family second, and all others third. Amen!

“Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.” (Proverbs 14:34)

Always remember, “But here in the real world, it’s not easy at all, cause when hearts get broken, it’s real tears that fall.” Keep your chin up, America, God’s not finished with us yet. (Philippians 1:6) Amen!

AUTHOR’S POSTSCRIPT

I conclude this blog asking an all-important two-point question. Is America now under national judgement, and are we now living in the last days?  In my opinion, I give a positive yes on both accounts.

Apply this answer to the Biblical chain down throughout history from the rejection of our living Creator to our total moral collapse. (Romans 1:18-20) 

You see, for the universe itself makes the existence  of God too obvious to deny. (Psalm 19:2-5)

However, being older than dirt and twice as gritty, far into my eighth decade of years, I’ve never seen America in such premeditated chaos on every hand, in the home, at work and play, in the civic government and even in the organized religion.

I know Scripture tells us that our living Creator God, appoints both good and evil leaders to establish His divine will. (Daniel 2:21-22) Also, it is evident that today’s civilization is moving in the wrong direction. (Ecclesiastes 5:8).  

Can we, as a people, and as a country escape such disturbed living? Yes, we can. Again, I give you two two-part answer to the above mentioned two questions.

RESPECTING TEMPTATION-  (ICorinthians 10:13)  The way of escape, the way out. Not necessarily relief, but power for us to bear the testing.

RESPECTING A SOLUTION- (II Chronicles 7:14) Here we see a God-given commandment, with a corresponding promise, not to the world, but to His people.   

My parting prayer. "Father God, I’m so unsettled within my spirit that my soul trembles within me. I know you are still our all-powerful, all-knowing Redeemer. I know You still place the just and unjust in authority according to Your perfect will. (Daniel 2:21) I know You reward good and punish evil (Genesis 12:3) with respect to Your people Israel. And  I know from personal ongoing experience, that You love and protect Your own. (Galations 3:26 Thank You for Jesus (John 3:16) and Your Holy Spirit (Romans 8:26) to lead me and guide me into all truth, (John 14:26) in Jesus’ name I pray. Amen!"
