Stand Or Fall        Jane H. Young

If You don’t stand for something; you will fall for anything.

“But turning around and seeing His disciples, He rebuked Peter and said, "Get behind Me, Satan; for you are not setting your mind on God's interests, but man's."” Mark 8:33 NASB1995 Peter was not making good choices. He was not standing on what Jesus had been teaching him.

We can’t be wishy-washy in anything we do, we can’t allow ourselves to fall for all this old world has to tempt us with. If you believe something then stand up for it. Don’t think and be one way  at work, but another way when you are home.

“Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.” 1 Corinthians 16:13 NASB1995.

Think of the people you spend the most time with. Do these individuals encourage or discourage you, bring you down or lift you up? Are you falling for their way of life;  acting, speaking  and thinking like them, or are you standing firm on what you believe to be true. Take a long hard look at them, are they the type of person you want to become?

Who you choose to spend time with is one of the most important decisions you can make. It’s also one of the most practical areas to begin discerning the voice of God and His will for your life. He will shine a light on your double minded ways and show you how to stand strong.

The people you surround yourself with determine the person you will become. If you are hanging around people who are constantly  putting garbage in their lives, you will start to see the same traits in your life, however you can turn things back around when you stand, that’s when you’ll start to make the right choices again.

Let this be your prayer: “Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.” Psalms 51:10 NASB1995
