Live Life On Purpose     Jane H. Young

Living life on purpose is a good choice. It means not living life randomly but taking your time and really know what you are doing and why.

Have you ever come to the end of a day and thought back to what you actually did, or have you ever said I can’t believe this day went by so fast, I have no idea what I did all day.

We are meant to live on purpose and treasure every minute of everyday. Even through there are times we do things randomly, life should not be lived  recklessly or without thought.

The world offers numerous ways to find meaning. It defines purpose in terms of power, pleasure, wealth, intellect, and other things. Most of these which could be called “vanity”. The first step towards finding and living with purpose is turning from the things that rob us of direction.

Our main purpose needs to be getting to know God and fellowshipping with Him.  We should live with the purpose of doing God’s will, loving others, and sharing the gospel with others. In short, general purposes for the believer is to be made alive in Christ, to be transformed and conformed to the image of Christ by God’s grace through faith.

We can figure out our purposes as we seek God and study His Word, will, and ways.. Purposes may be given for a specific time, such as with the prophets. Or God may give certain abilities, gifts, or callings for particular events, such as with Joseph’s preparation to preserve people during a famine, or Esther’s purpose in rescuing her people—a calling “for such a time as this.”

Just because life takes twists and turns, doesn’t mean a believer has stepped out of God’s will. In fact, twists and turns may be unexpected parts of His plans. Lets give thought and purpose going forward, into how we are living this life God has blessed us with.

“Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.” Proverbs 19:21 NIV
