Prayers

  The flip side of the pure love of goodness and kindness is the holy hatred of evil and injustice.  Oftentimes it is that holy hatred of evil and injustice that fuels the effective prayer and gives it fervency.  That holy hatred helps to drive the passion of the prayer and give it urgency. That was the way Jesus prayed with loud cries and tears sometimes.  God seems to delight in hearing and answering those kinds of fervent prayers.  
  As some mighty prayer warriors of centuries past used to say, "we need for the wholehearted 'oh!' to return to our prayers."
