Maura

Maura, my beloved wife, now in heaven,

      Our Lord God could see you were in such pain

      And getting so very tired, that an earthly

      Cure was not to be.

Maura, the very first time I saw you, waited for you,

      Eagerly married you, we both knew Our Lord made

      Us one for this earthly journey to prepare us for our

      Eternal heavenly home

Maura, what we told each other daily how much love

      We have for one other was affirmation of our oneness

      Blessed by the Master when you experienced agape and

      The realities of your new Life.

Maura, if human love could save you alone,

      You never would have entered your new life

      As rapidly as you did.

      I could do nothing more to make you stay.

Maura, with tears, my vision blurred.

      I heard you call our son, by name

      And your earthly mother,

      Then breathed your last!

Maura, your smiling face, at that moment,

      Seemed to indicate Our Lord put His loving arms

      Around you and whisper

      “Come to Me, Maura, My beloved, see My Gifts!”

Maura, for me and many others, a beautiful heart

      Of Gold ceased on earth,

      For an eternal life.

      Prepared just for YOU!

Maura, God took you to His beautiful, magnificent,

      Heavenly Kingdom,

      To prove to me and those who remain with faith, hope,

      And agape that He only takes the best to be with Him.

Maura, my beloved, now in heaven!

      Pray for us to Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ,

      To yearn for our heavenly home, our new way of life,

      And the gifts yet to come!
