Noah, His Ark and Us

I've been thinking of Noah and the Ark he was instructed to build to save the lives of his family during the Flood. My husband and I have visited the Ark Exhibit in Kentucky where it was pointed out that the Ark had a door by which it was entered and then God sealed it shut when the time was right to protect the lives inside. Just in the same way Jesus is our Door into salvation though which we must enter and by which we are sealed inside.

God could have snatched Noah and his family up and taken them off the earth along with the animals and placed them in a chamber in Heaven to preserve them while He brought the Flood on the Earth but He did not do so. God moved Noah to build the Ark which protected them while still in the world.

In the same way, as Jesus is our Ark while we are still here in the world, we are sealed inside, safe from the turmoil and danger that is going on outside. God has given us peace in our souls to help us endure through these evil times and we are to preach to our generation as Noah did to his, to urge people into the Ark of Christ for safety.

We are being profoundly impacted by the events going on around us as Noah and his family were impacted by the events of their day, but we are kept safe in Jesus and will ride out this storm safe and dry in Him, with peace in our souls.
