Thankful For My Cross

Sometimes I find myself complaining about the burdens I bare
And I feel and think life seems to be so unfair;
But, when I take a moment to listen to the woes of my sisters and brothers,
I realize that I may be a little more fortunate than others.
Life is not that I desire and hope for it to be,
But, I realize that God knows what’s best for me.
So many have financial problems that they are pressing through,
While there are those who are financially blessed, but have mates that are untrue.
There are those who have a relationship that only others can dream of,
And then there are those who are successful, but have no one to love.
There are some that have more than enough to share,
But the burden of loneliness seems more than they can bare.
There are those who know where they stand spiritually,
But seem to meet failure on ever hand professionally.
There are those who have a family that stick with them through thick and thin,
And there are those who don’t even have the joy of having a close friend.
Regardless of the circumstances or situations,
It’s best that we take a careful examination
Of what we have, what we desire, and what is best
Because after looking at others’ situations, I was forced to confess
That I appreciate the cross that God has given me to bare;
For, although what I’m going through may seen unfair,
Others have helped me to realize, understand and see
That God knows the cross that I’m baring is what’s best for me.
So, I’ve learned to appreciate my cross; all that I go through;
For, the trials of others have helped me see that my burdens are very few.
